Sipario Su Modica
A beautiful home in Modica's historical city centre with amazing views
Sipario Su Modica

Sipario is a wonderful holiday house in the historical centre of Modica. Recently restored to its original 1930s feel, when my grandparents bought it, the house offers all modern comforts. The name Sipario, which means Theatre Curtains, was inspired by the nearby theatre and refers to the theatrical effect of going through the doors of the terrazzo to be overwelmed by a breathtaking view of the city.

The living room offers an elegant space that maintains many of its period elements from the 18th century.
Sipario su Modica has three en-suite and airconditioned bedrooms. The beds can be arranged for either couples of friends sharing a room.
For us the kitchen is the most important room in the house, this is why it is a spacious (over 30 sqm), well equipped kitchen, designed with the purpose of creating a warm welcoming experience for our guests.

It has an elegant living space and a spacious kitchen, both with domed ceilings and direct access to the terrace, a terrace with spectacular views of Modica's baroque S. George Cathedral, a bathroom in the living area, a laundry and 3 comfortable en-suite bedrooms.

Within the city, the house is strategically placed behind the Garibaldi Theatre at some 80 steps up from Modica's main high street, where there are shops, restaurants and bars.

Please keep in mind that Modica develops up the sides of hills surrounding a small valley were once a river run through. The home is reached by walking up 80 steps.

Standing in front of the theatre facing it, Via Ritiro is actually the set of steps going up on the left side of the Teatro.

If coming from Catania airport you get on a motorway towards Siracusa and Rosolini. Once in Rosolini, you get out of the motorway towards Ispica, then straight to Modica.
